BOGEY XII on the way!
Yes, #12 is roughly 3 months away. After an eventful 2007 Open contested for the first time in the great state of Texas, the Open shifts back to one of the favorite venues of all time-- The Boulders Resort in Carefree, Arizona.
DAS can already taste the sights & sounds of those lovely casitas!
It looks like we'll have 10 men again for the second time in Tour history. All the usual suspects are back, although it appears Gonzo will be out for the 2nd straight year due to a medical exemption (back surgery).
2008 will be exciting, as the format shifts to our Challenge Cup format, which is contested every 3rd year. Two, competitive squads will face-off against one another as the ACE's from 2006 & 2007 will captain these delicate teams of semi-professionals. The 2006 champ and current Spaulding (the first tour player ever to win the championship and then finish dead-last the next year) is our beloved squirrel and Annika-looking, DAS. Our 2007 champion and current ACE is Z, and this will be the third time he has adorned the captain designation. --Perhaps this year will bring his first victory as the captain.
Boulders will provide quite a backdrop for the long weekend, as the tourney takes place from Thursday, June 5th thru Sunday, June 8th. Players will arrive and receive their full press kits starting Wednesday night.
Handicaps will be due around mid-May, and the group should start practicing immediately. There are so many potential story lines, we could devote an entire website to each player but that isn't in the budget.
The team format allows all players to compete on a myriad of levels, and the sides will be chosen by May 1st. Stay tuned for more updates, and let the BOGEY banter begin!

Look at the pre-tournament predictions & odds! Not bad--- these guys know their stuff:
Beav/Deacon-- is his mind as healed as his soul? Can he get some help from above & from Linda? We all know he has the stuff, and the team format makes him formidable. 12:1 odds given his new faith from above. MJ-- he continues to work less than any other man on Tour. He is lean, and always evil. He wants to win more than anyone, and he lives for this event. Beware-- 3:1 odds says Vegas.
Meat--Randy should be even tougher this year after his rookie season, where he finished a superb second. Like his brother, he is a snake in the grass. He scares everybody, but we're glad to have him back. The captains MUST keep these boys apart, or it could get ugly...... 8:1 odds.
Cabby-- It is hard not to pull for this lost boy. He is truly the Forrest Gump of our Tour-- you never know what you're going to get. Can he control his mind-- no way now that he's age 40. Keep he & Lime off the same team and maybe he has a chance: 114:1 odds.
Libby-- new swing for the 3rd consecutive year, but the same flaws remain. He is working too much, but he will grind and compete. The team format could help him claim the ACE title for the first time and keep him in the hunt. Although he is afraid of critters in the desert-- 45:1 odds.
Z-- the guy has too much on his mind to compete effectively. Loves the AZ golf life, but history shows he is a poor captain. Not his year, and his low handicap is a burden his team will ache from. 24:1 odds.
DAS-- loves the spotlight of being the captain. Sucked in 2007, but should make a strong comeback in 2008. He has already promised to drink non-stop, which is great for his golf game, but bad for his friends: 30:1 odds.
Jake-- new job, new outlook? As in every year, can he control his wandering mind and appetite for binge drinking? Hasn't played well in years. His roommate assignment will be critical. Oddsmakers remain perplexed, and continue to see the sign of the devil in the mix: 66:1 odds.
Philly-- match play fits him much better than stroke play. Prays to play Z again in singles. Still, too much dirty laundry in his bag-- sausage anyone? Could he play just one good round to see that Texas smile?-- 300:1 odds.
Fish I-- busiest man on Tour. All he has done since 2007 is make kids, think, catch fraudsters, and study. Congrats to the player for achieving his MBA! Until he can root-cause his misses, he will fold in the end like a spider monkey. Continues to want this championship more than anyone else on the board as an original, founding member. But not enough self-understanding and love at home: 500:1 odds.

Team Go-Go watching with anxiety over the mysterious playoff putt-off which proved meaningless in the 2005 Challenge Cup. Winning team-- Go-Go, Jake, Walt, Cabby, Z and Deacon.

River Course, hole #1 a par-5. Welcome to the Jungle!
"The best non-lake, non-oceanside course I have ever played," stated Z. "And one of the toughest overall as well." Sloped near 150, it is tough everywhere.
